Shimla: In the early trends of the counting of votes for the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections, a close fight between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress continues in the state. According to the Election Commission, the Congress has touched the majority mark in the trends. The opposition party Congress is leading on 35 seats. Whereas, BJP is ahead in 30 seats. According to the website, the candidates in the fray are Chief Minister Jairam Thakur from Seraj, BJP’s Puran Chand from Darrang, Chetan Bargata, son of former minister Narendra Bargata from Jubbal Kotkhai, Anil Sharma, son of former Union minister Sukhram from Mandi Sadar and Assembly Speaker from Kinnaur. Former Vice President and Congress candidate Jagat Singh Negi are included.
