Three women died during treatment this morning in a cylinder blast at a wedding house in Jodhpur. A total of 5 people, including two children, have lost their lives in this accident on Thursday, while the condition of more than 40 people is critical. All are undergoing treatment at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jodhpur.
Dilip Kachhawa, Principal of Dr SN Medical College, has confirmed the death of three women, Dhapu Kanwar, Kanwaru and Chandan Kanwar, who were seriously burnt in the accident today. More than 60 people of about 20 families have been burnt in this horrific accident. At the same time, the happiness of marriages in two houses has turned into mourning. The groom was getting ready when the blast happened.
The accident took place in Bhungra village of Shergarh tehsil, about 110 km from Jodhpur. Here five cylinder blasts took place one after the other in a village and the whole village was shaken. When the burnt people were brought to the hospital in Jodhpur, everyone was shocked to see them. There was chaos in the entire hospital seeing so many injured.
Mourning has spread in the village where the accident took place since yesterday and the marks of further accidents are visible from afar. The marriage material has turned to ashes. The video of the house that has surfaced after the cylinder blast is shocking.
The groom Surendra Singh and his family members were preparing for the wedding procession when the incident took place. Women were singing auspicious songs. The sisters were waiting for when their brother would leave for the wedding festivities. The whole village had come to join in the happiness of the family.
Then suddenly a fire broke out due to leakage in a gas cylinder and in no time five cylinders got blasted. Surendra Singh’s entire house was destroyed in this blast. The tent that was put up in the house was also burnt. Relatives told that a gas cylinder fell on the women sitting in the courtyard.
In such a situation, many women got burnt. The wedding dress kept for the bride also got burnt in this fire. Suddenly, hearing screams from the house, when the people around reached there, they were also surprised to see the situation. Somehow the other cylinders kept in the house were taken out. The women and girls who were inside were also brought out and taken to the hospital.

Function was going on for two days
I had come to Bhungra from my in-laws house Bhandu two days ago. On Thursday, the procession was to go to Khokhsar, a nearby village. The house was full of relatives. Rituals were being done before the procession left. Everyone was getting ready to go to the procession. The women were singing songs before going to the procession.
I went to the nearby house to get ready. During this, the sound started coming with loud bangs. Ganwari told that when she came running to her brother’s house, she saw that the house was engulfed in flames and there was a sound of screaming of women and children. Ganwari told that there were her mother and sister-in-law in the house who became victims of this accident. . At the same time, neighbor Pramod told that the function was going on in the house for three-four days. Everyone was preparing for the wedding procession, but could not understand anything about the incident. The injured had reached Shergarh after taking them to the hospital. From there I have brought him to Jodhpur. The procession was to go in the afternoon, but before that the accident happened. He told that about 20 cylinders were brought for the wedding. Leakage then blast in the cylinders kept in the store.
According to the family members, there was a smell of gas leakage since morning. The confectioner checked the cylinders near the furnace, but forgot to check the cylinders in the store. Slowly the gas reached the courtyard and as soon as the gas reached the furnace, the fire spread all around.
The cylinder near the furnace caught fire and exploded. At the time when the accident happened, the courtyard of the house was full of men and women and preparations were being made for the procession. The fire spread so fast that the women’s sarees badly stuck to them.
Mother, grandmother and sister of 12-year-old Karan Singh were burnt to death
12-year-old Karan Singh, who lives in the neighborhood of groom Surendra’s house, told that he was playing outside in Surendra’s house where his mother, his sister and grandmother were, suddenly the gas tank burst and people got scorched. He also went to Shergarh hospital with his mother, grandmother and sister and came to Jodhpur with them.
On the other hand, Sua, a resident of the village, told that her sister-in-law has also become a victim of the accident. After the accident, nothing was understood as to what had happened. Even the children are burnt. When I saw the people of the house in this condition, my heart was shaken.
Mandu Devi of the family told that she had just got ready and came out when suddenly there was loud shouting. Mandu was wearing jewelry when she reached the hospital. He told that all the things in the house got burnt. There were cracks in the walls. Somehow saved his life and took him to the hospital.
Marriage was happening in flour-sata
Two marriages have been postponed after this accident. The groom Surendra Singh’s procession was to go to Khokhsar in Barmer, while the brother-in-law’s procession was to come to Padam Singh, resident of Bhalu Rajwan, son of Surendra Singh’s aunt. Padam Singh’s daughter was engaged to Surendra Singh’s brother-in-law in a huff.
Bhungra sub-sarpanch told that the family of three brothers, including Surendra Singh’s father Sagat Singh, lives side by side in the same field. Sagat Singh’s two elder brothers Hamir Singh and Narpat Singh have died. The entire family, including one of Narpat Singh’s sons, had gone to the nearby Dev Sthan to commit dhok and the incident took place.
