In Preet Vihar area, in the case of kidnapping and murder of an innocent, angry relatives created a ruckus late on Tuesday night. The relatives had reached the accused Kishore’s house to take revenge from his family. When the police tried to stop, the angry relatives pelted stones at the police. The crowd of people reached the Preet Vihar red light on Vikas Marg and blocked the road. People also broke the glasses of many vehicles passing by.
Seeing the situation worsening, police force was called from nearby police stations. Senior police officers also reached the spot. After the ruckus that lasted for about one-and-a-half hours, the police somehow persuaded the family members and removed them from the road. There was an atmosphere of tension on the spot till late night. Police force has been deployed in Chitra Vihar.
A senior officer of East District said that after abducting the innocent, the police team nabbed the accused on Monday. He was constantly misleading the police. He said that when he took the child, he started crying and he had left it on the way. On strictly asking, the accused talked about killing him and disposing of the dead body in Meerut.
When the police reached Meerut on Tuesday with the accused, the body was recovered. Here, when the family came to know about the murder of the innocent, their anger erupted. At around eight o’clock in the night, the people living in the neighborhood reached the house of the accused. Some policemen were already stationed there as a precautionary measure. He saved the family members of the accused safely. After this, the relatives of the innocent got enraged and they attacked the police. Later more staff were called from the police station.
After this, a crowd of family members gathered and reached Vikas Marg. People blocked both the carriage way of the road and started raising slogans. People were also angry with the slow action of the police. When the police tried to pacify them, the people pelted stones again. Some people also broke the front glasses of four-five vehicles. There was chaos on the spot.
After calling the police force, all the senior police officers including the Deputy Commissioner reached the spot. At 9:15 people were removed from the road and the traffic was opened. The police is keeping an eye on the whole situation. A relative told that the accused is addicted to drugs. The relatives used to keep the children away from him. He used to get annoyed by this. Don’t know whether he killed the innocent for this reason or there is some other reason behind the murder. The police will be able to tell only after interrogating him.
